On Friday, March 25, a large number of Ukrainians moved into the apartments at HomeFlex’s residential location in Honselersdijk, Elsenbosch industrial estate. In collaboration with the municipality of Westland, HomeFlex has made space available to provide long-term accommodation for these refugees.
Within two weeks, HomeFlex prepared approximately 30 three- and four-room apartments for the reception of Ukrainian families. The apartments were cleaned and refurnished with comfortable beds and furniture. The municipality of Westland provides the residents with basic necessities and will support them in the coming period.
The location on the Elsenbosch site was opened by HomeFlex in 2020 for housing migrant workers and consists of 120 apartments. All apartments still had an empty bedroom that was not yet used in anticipation of possible growth. By now using these empty bedrooms and rearranging the residents in cooperation with the tenants, space has been created to accommodate about 120 Ukrainian refugees for an extended period.
