At the end of April 2020, the Municipality of Terneuzen granted permission for the construction of a temporary complex for migrant workers on Leidinglaan in Sluiskil. On Thursday, November 12, the land transfer took place, allowing the construction of the residential complex to begin.
The Project
The apartment complex consists of 32 apartments for 2 or 3 people. All residents have their own bedroom and share a kitchen, living room, and bathroom with one or two other residents. In total, approximately 80 people will be accommodated.
The Construction Schedule
In mid-November, the ground preparation and foundation work will begin. In the last week of November, pile driving activities will take place. If everything goes according to plan, the residential units will be placed on site by the end of January. The completion of the complex is scheduled for spring 2021.
Modular Construction
Work on the residential units is already in full swing at the factory. The construction is being carried out by Ursem Modulaire Bouwsystemen, which manufactures the units in the factory and transports them fully assembled to the construction site. This allows the project to be completed in a short time.
