Last week, the final homes were placed at our location on Ibisweg in Zeewolde. 16 temporary homes have been realized, providing accommodation for 64 labor migrants, specifically for the agricultural sector. On the farmer’s property, there is space for housing, giving his staff a pleasant place to stay.
Unique Collaboration
Unique to this location is that HomeFlex collaborated with the arable farmer for the realization of these homes, who wanted a good solution for housing his employees. To relieve them of concerns and keep labor and rental contracts separate, HomeFlex is involved. During the months when the arable farmer doesn’t ‘need’ the homes for his staff, HomeFlex will rent them out to other parties. This creates an optimal collaboration between the farmer and the housing provider.
New Form
The homes are manufactured in the factory and delivered in modules to the construction site. There, they are placed, stacked, and further finished. This fast and efficient method of modular construction is not unfamiliar to HomeFlex.
New in this project is that the homes have a different appearance. While HomeFlex previously realized apartments, for this location, ‘houses’ were chosen. Consideration was given to what best fits the environment, opting for natural materials with a high degree of circularity. On the ground floor is the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, and on the first floor are the bedrooms. Of course, single-person bedrooms were chosen to ensure privacy and quality. Each home is for 4 people and is rented out fully furnished.
Opening
The coming months will be focused on finishing and furnishing the houses before they are put into use in early 2024.
