On Thursday, November 3, the official opening of the new housing location for migrant workers in Vlaardingen took place. Councilor Ivana Somers and HomeFlex director Bert Verheij cut the ribbon together. In her speech, Ms. Somers spoke about a special moment now that a first location for housing migrant workers in the municipality of Vlaardingen has been put into use. ‘I hear positive messages from both residents and neighbors,’ she added. Bert Verheij especially thanked those involved who have been part of the realization of this location over the past 5 years.
This new location in Vlaardingen was originally an office building. Three floors in the building have been converted into studios. 39 fully furnished studios provide space for approximately 70 migrant workers who are employed in the area. Because each studio is equipped with its own bathroom and kitchen, this concept offers maximum privacy to the residents.
After the official moment, there was an opportunity to view several studios.
