In Vlaardingen, work is underway on the transition of an office building into 39 studios for housing migrant workers. Currently, the renovation is in its final phase, and from August onwards, the first employees will move into this location.
The top 3 floors of the office building on Nijverheidsstraat will be occupied by HomeFlex. On the ground floor and first floor, housing is provided by Stichting Onder Een Dak (STOED). The HomeFlex floors have been redesigned to create 13 studios on each floor. Each studio is fully furnished for 1 or 2 people and includes a kitchen, bathroom, and toilet. The residents have their own space with plenty of privacy.
The complex is managed by HomeFlex. This means that a manager is present to guide the residents, but also to regularly check the studios for malfunctions and safety.
